Job Description

- Academy of Hospitality and Tourism Teacher
- Provide rigorous lessons aligned to the National Academy Foundation curriculum for the Academy of Hospitality that promote independent thinking creative problem solving and intellectual curiosity for all students.
- Plan and implement instructions to ensure that all students meet and exceed State Frameworks
- Use of data to inform instruction to track student progress and to track progress of self through selfevaluation and goal setting
- Deliver engaging targeted instruction that meets MA DESE Standards for effective teaching
- Differentiate services and instruction to meet variety of student learning needs and strengths
- Maintain active communication with students families in support of their learning and to communicate with families consistently and regularly throughout the school year about their childrens academic and social progress
- Assess student performance using formal summative and portfolio assessments to drive instruction
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
- Attention to detail and ability to evaluate student competencies in Hospitality
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum content connected to successful employability within the communications career pathway of Hospitality and Tourism
- Experienced in delivering instruction connected to career technical skills within the National Academy Foundation for Hospitality and Tourism including skillbased instruction in the content area employability entrepreneurial digital literacy academic integration and workplace safety.
- Minimum of bachelors degree.
- Licensed by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- SEI Endorsement OR Licensed as an ESL Educator by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
- A demonstrated belief that each and every student can achieve at high levels.
- A demonstrated dedication to lifelong learning reflection and continued personal and professional growth.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding interpersonal and collaborative teamwork skills.
- Bilingual in Spanish or multilingual and bicultural strongly recommended.
- .Participation in a student teaching practicum as part of a college/university teacher training program
- Minimum three years industry experience in hospitality and tourism desired
- Familiarity with curriculum and instructional strategies as it relates to the career pathway of Hospitality and Tourism
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) requirements: Business 512
- Reports to: School Principal or Designee
- Rate: In accordance with the NBEA Unit A contract found here
- Physical Demands: (Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects and frequent climbing. include sitting standing and walking for extended periods reaching fine manual dexterity pushing pulling talking hearing near and far visual acuity depth perception and field of vision.
