Job Description

A well respected Charleston area law firm seeks an experienced paralegal to join their busy Summerville office.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5 years personal injury paralegal / legal assistant experience required.
  • Litigation / Trial experience.
  • Able to handle large complex cases.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient with personal computers hardware software and related applications and systems (MS Office/Word/Outlook).
  • Experience drafting legal correspondence and reports.
  • Working knowledge of court and administrative hearing rules and procedures.
  • Detailoriented with ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to work individually AND as a member of a team.
  • Willingness to participate in shared office duties and requirements.
  • Professional demeanor.
  • Work weekends/overtime when needed for trial.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide information to clients on a daily basis.
  • Prepare legal documents and correspondence.
  • Request records documents and reports.
  • Docket cases mail and maintain case management database.
  • File and serve pleading schedule hearings
