Here at DNV we assist our customers within the maritime industry to manage their risks in all phases of a ships life through ship classification and a range of technical business risk environmental and competencyrelated services.

Local Unit & Position Description

Area UK & Ireland is part of the Maritime Region West Europe. The area offers Maritime Classification Services from seven UK locations with its headquarters in London. Services delivered are Fleet in Service incorporating Ships in Operation and Offshore as well as Classification and Verification of Material and Components (CMC/ VMC).

We are looking for a CMC/ VMC Surveyor to join our team in the UK reporting to the local Service Line Manager mainly covering the geographical area around Gorleston/ Great Yarmouth.

Main responsibilities:

  • Certification and Verification of Materials and Components under Class and NonClass related systems and processes.
  • Essential product lines for CMC Surveyor: semifinished materials and products welded components/ structures pumps compressors pressure vessels and hydraulics such as cylinders etc.
  • Other main product lines for CMC Surveyor which will be considered: Electrical systems automation Dynamic Positioning Systems power generators electrical motors switchboards and battery/ UPS systems transformers frequency converters propulsion and auxiliary engines turbines. thrusters gearboxes.
  • Managing our clients together with other relevant parts of our organisation
  • Projectorientated work and cooperation in interdisciplinary verification projects

Qualifications

Position Qualifications:

  • Master/ Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Electrical/ Marine Engineering (or other relevant disciplines)
  • Valid Qualification and good knowledge as CMC/ VMC Surveyor desirable
  • Experience within the Maritime Industry
  • Valid drivers license required and acceptable driving record meeting company requirements
  • Depending on technical profile we will be willing to support your competence development to obtain the necessary qualifications
