Additionally Buncombe County has a very rich benefits package including an 8 contribution to our 401(k) which is a free contribution not a match. We also have a state pension to which Buncombe County contributes about 11 and has a 5year vesting period. In addition we have firstinclass health insurance and generous paid time off plan including 13 paid holidays 12 days of sick leave that roll over each year and vacation accruals starting at 10 days per year which increases with service.

The purpose of this position is to be responsible for performing mechanical work to repair maintain and rebuild gasoline and alternative fueled automotive equipment.
Minimum Education Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): High school diploma or GED and a minimum of five 5 years of progressive experience in the repair of gasoline and alternatively fueled automobiles trucks and heavy equipment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Additional Training and Experience: Completion of Safety Training post hire.
License or Certification by Statute or Regulation: Possession of a valid North Carolina drivers license; North Carolina Inspection License; May require current certification by the EPA as a Type I II III or Universal technicians as required by 40 CFR part 82 subpart F.

In order to uphold internal pay parity and equity salaries are nonnegotiable for new and current Buncombe County employees.
