Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Technical Proficiency: Indepth knowledge of IT systems infrastructure and software development as well as familiarity with government regulations compliance and security standards (e.g. FAR DFARS NIST).
  • Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership abilities to guide teams resolve conflicts and make strategic decisions combined with effective communication with stakeholders team members and senior management.
  • Financial Management: Expertise in budgeting and financial oversight to manage effectively with the ability to allocate resources efficiently and track expenses.
  • Risk Management: Proficient in identifying and mitigating risks associated with the contract and developing contingency plans to ensure project success.
  • Contract Management: Skilled in understanding contractual terms deliverables and performance metrics with strong negotiation skills for contract modifications or extensions.
  • Vendor Management: Experienced in coordinating with subcontractors vendors and external partners to ensure timely delivery of services and adherence to quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Implements processes to monitor and evaluate project performance while ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Regularly updates stakeholders on project status risks and achievements while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Adaptability and ProblemSolving: Capable of handling unexpected challenges adapting to changing project requirements and creatively solving complex issues.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent field (such as computer science information technology or business administration)
  • Project Management Institute certification or equivalent certification (PMP ITIL)
  • 8 years of experience in management of LAN support system integration complex network designs network administration telecommunications and data processing projects
  • 5 years of experience in management of broadbased IT programs
  • Advanced customer service skills and training

Overview

We are seeking a Deputy Program Manager to join our team supporting the United States Senate in Washington DC.

This program provides comprehensive services for Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) supporting around roughly 12000 users. The program covers the acquisition delivery configuration integration and upgrade of IT products along with installation and onsite maintenance including help desk services. Additional support includes hardware delivery moves upgrades in state offices and technical assistance for systems ensuring efficient secure and uptodate IT infrastructure.

The Deputy Program Manager will assist the Program Manager in overseeing and executing the program ensuring it meets its goals timelines and budget. Responsibilities include coordinating daily operations managing project teams facilitating communication among stakeholders and addressing any issues that arise. Support strategic planning resource allocation and performance monitoring to ensure the programs success. Act as a bridge between the Program Manager and the team help implement strategies track progress and maintain documentation contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the program.
