Job Description

Position Summary
The Indiana University Jacobs School of Music seeks candidates for a tenuretrack or tenured position as Flute Professor to begin August 2025. The ideal candidate will have recognition both nationally and internationally as a performer and as a pedagogue in a wide variety of settings. Primary responsibilities include building and maintaining a studio of undergraduate and graduatelevel flute students teaching studio classes and coaching chamber ensembles. Additional duties could include teaching orchestra literature classes pedagogy classes and other related courses. The successful candidate is expected to participate in departmental meetings recruitment activities and auditions doctoral committees and recital hearing committees along with other department activities such as faculty recitals and outreach activities master classes and other similar activities. Deadline: Applications received by October 1 2024 will be assured full consideration however the search will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Expected Start Date: August 1 2025
