Description

We are seeking a teamoriented Electrical and Instrumentation Engineerto provide support to our incineration facility in La Porte TX. Poised to be the Subject Matter Expert. Collaborating with Engineers I&E Supervisors and various staff to resolve power instrumentation and controls issues. Provide Project Management support for capital projects and miscellaneous projects.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring Health and Safety is the number one goal by following polices processes and always acting in a safe manner.
  • Provides Electrical and Instrumentation Engineering support for our incineration facility.
  • Works with facility engineering and maintenance staff to resolve issues involving power instrumentation and controls.
  • Reviews facility electric power distribution systems and works with facility staff to improve system infrastructure and reliability.
  • Provides project management support for capital projects controlling projects costs scheduling resources and communicating milestones with management.
  • Assists in the completion of facility documentation and drawings for electrical systems.
  • Assists maintenance department in developing maintaining and assuring of facility preventive maintenance programs (PMs) for electrical systems.
  • Contributes to facilities PSM (Process Safety Management) programs.
  • Manages external engineering resources as needed.
  • Interfaces with external electrical power contractors.


Qualifications

What does it take to work at Clean Harbors

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • 10 years experience working as an Electrical Engineer in the Petrochemical Chemical and/or related industry
  • Experience with 138KV strongly preferred
  • Experience with medium/low(480v) voltage equipment required
  • PM and Capital Management experience
  • AutoCAD experience a plus!
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Experience working with union employees
  • Must have a desire and ability to remain current with recent technology and developments within the industry
  • Knowledge of NEC NFPA ISA OSHA and standards/regulations related to electrical systems.
  • Primary schedule MF but must be available for oncall and to work turn arounds
  • Requires lifting to 50lbs standing pulling and/or pushing carrying reaching and crouching speaking listening tasting climbing smelling working at heights
