Job Description
Pay Range: $25.49$31.95
Shift Premium: $1.50
2 weeks of vacation provided in first 5 months of employment
Department: Maintenance
Scope of job: Follows standard procedures and operating manuals to effect repair maintenance and diagnosis of mechanic problems in capital equipment and facilities.
Reports to: Maintenance Manager or Supervisor
Formal Education: High school or GED and formal training/work experience in:
Hydraulic electrical and pneumatic systems
Conveyor systems
Blueprint reading
Welding and fabricating
OSHA Basic
Lockout tag out procedures
Safe use of hand and electrical tools
Aptitudes:
- Analytical approach to Effective planning and organization skills
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Mechanical aptitude at a high level; able to conceptualize mechanical devices
- Safetyfirst approach to work
Skills
- Communication skills to obtain and receive information
- Math aptitude for basic mathematics fractions decimals and metric system
- Mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment of no less than three years.
Responsibilities:
- Carries tools and equipment to and from storage and working area
- Inspects equipment tools and machinery for safety issues
- Requisitions parts and services
- Uses test equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose failures
- Lays out assembles installs and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and repairs and replaces gages valves pressure regulators and related equipment
Mechanical maintenance
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts following specifications and blueprints using precision measuring instruments and hand tools
- Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical failures: presses equipment plumbing all vehicles (except expensive engine overhauls)
- Lays out and assembles new machines and equipment
Physical requirements:
- Able to work at heights from 10 to 30 feet on ladders and platforms
- Extensive walking standing stooping and bending
- Lifting: heavy 50 lbs without assistance); arm and back extension
- High level of manual dexterity
