Under the supervision of the Office Manager the Administrative Assistant:
- performs duties as assigned that include receptionist secretarial and operational duties for Physician Office Practice while serving as the liaison between the patient other staff and the physician
- initiates implementation of processes and or has access to all operational components of the office as required by daily operation
- has access to operational components of a practice includes access to physicians office medical records medical supplies
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent required
- One year general office support experience required
- Medical office experience preferred
- Requires a basic understanding of general office routines and procedures with the ability to file accurately
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; proficient with computers to include keyboarding basic navigation and use of email (Outlook)
- Ability to work with multiline phone and computer systems accurately and efficiently
- Effective customer service and relationship building skills with patients visitors and staff; ability to respect dignity of all patients and follow HIPAA rules without breaches in confidentiality
- Ability to transcribe documents
- Proficient listening verbal and written communication skills
