Job Description
Clean Harbors is searching for a licensed reliable and safetyoriented Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Intern to join our La Porte TX team! The intern will shadow I&E Technicians for instrumentation checks calibrations and PLC Ladder Logic along with diagnosing issues with control circuitry and assisting the electrical maintenance departments with various tasks as needed and update documentation as needed.
Wage: $25hr
Intern duration: Summer JuneAugust (some flexibility in start and end dates)
Housing:Not provided. Prefer candidates to live in a commutable distance from La Porte TX
Responsibilities
- Ensures that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices policies and processes and always acting in a safe manner
- Assists in troubleshooting instrument and control malfunctions
- Shadows preventative maintenance checks and calibrations cabling power distribution systems and motor control centers
- Maintains accurate records and logs as required
Qualifications
What does it take to work for Clean Harbors
- Enrolled in or a recent graduate a two year I&E program or Electrical Engineering Technology type program
- Proficiency in CAD or similar software
- Knowledge of P&IDs and schematics preferred
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail
- Highly motivated and selfstarter with the ability to work independently
- Proficient in MS Office Suite Excel Word and Outlook
- Must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization written and verbally
- Lift to 50lbs climb ladders stoop bend stand for prolonged periods exposed to various weather conditions and work at heights
