As a Senior Lead Data Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance build and deliver data collection storage access and analytics in a secure stable and scalable way. Leverage your deep technical expertise and problem solving capabilities to drive significant business impact and tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple data pipelines data architectures and other data consumers.
Job responsibilities
- Provides recommendationsandinsight on data management governance proceduresandintricacies applicable to the acquisition maintenance validation andutilization of data
- Designs and delivers trusted data collection storage access and analytics data platform solutions in a secure stable and scalable way
- Defines database backuprecovery and archivingstrategy
- Generates advanced data models for one or more teams using firmwide tooling linear algebra statistics and geometrical algorithms
- Approves data analysis toolsandprocesses
- Creates functional andtechnicaldocumentationsupporting bestpractices
- Advises junior engineers and technologists
- Evaluates and reports onaccesscontrol processes todetermineeffectiveness of dataasset security
- Adds to team culture of diversity equity inclusion and respect
Required qualifications capabilities and skills
- Formal training or certification on Data Engineeringconcepts and 5 years applied experience
- Experience in dealing with Data Engineering skills
- Proven experience in Databricks Spark and AWS
- Handson practical experience delivering system design application development testing and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) i.e. Python or Java
- Experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related technical field
- Working experience with bothrelational and NoSQL databases
- Advanced understanding of database backup recovery and archiving strategies
- Advanced knowledge of linear algebra statistics and geometrical algorithms
- Experience presenting and delivering visual data
Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows.
