Position Summary:
The Molecular Biologist is responsible for planning implementation and management of PCR and qPCR processes and products. This individual will be expected to provide scientific guidance and molecular expertise in transferring completed development projects from research to operations and production. They will ensure operations has accurate and detailed SOPs as well as lead troubleshooting projects that arise in Operations. His/her direct reporting will be to The Director of Manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for production and filling of PCR solutions in accordance with standard work instructions
- Leading technology transfer from R&D to Operations from assay development to production
- SOP generation and scaling from R&D to Operations from assay development to production
- Design and develop troubleshooting and root cause identification of Operations related issues specifically related to PCR and molecular diagnostics
- Assist with design implementation and maintenance of PCR automation
- Proactively implement quality and productivity improvements
- Maintain knowledge of company operations departments organization and executives direct reports
Studies and Experience:
- MS or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and between 2 to 5 years of industry experience or equivalent experience in GMP related industry
- 2 years managerial experience
- Quality Assurance and Quality Control experience in a regulated (FDA GMP) industry is highly desirable
Skills and Qualifications:
- In depth knowledge of molecular diagnostics & PCR
- Excellent computer communication interpersonal and organizational skills required. Must be results oriented and selfmotivated
- Lean six sigma knowledge a plus
