With over three decades of experience and eight locations nationwide we are a team of vibrant professionals with experience across a range of sectors including renewables infrastructure defence regulation and policy resources and the urban development sector. We provide fully integrated environmental and social assessment and management services including concept and feasibility technical assessment consultation approvals delivery operation and decommissioning. Our Canberra ACT team requires a Principal or Senior Ecologist and Umwelt is open to considering some assistance with relocation expenses or remote working conditions with travel.
Our national team of ecologists have a reputation for their extensive scientific expertise and thorough evaluations of biodiversity. Our services are in high demand and continue to grow on the back of new and exciting projects including within the renewable energy infrastructure and resource sectors. At all times our goal is to use our expertise to provide specialist advice to balance development impact avoidance and offsetting results that achieve the best possible environmental outcome.
You will be responsible for:
Principal Ecologist
As a Principal Ecologist you will spearhead our ecological initiatives providing leadership and technical expertise to guide projects from inception to completion. With a focus on innovation and excellence you will lead by example mentoring staff and fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Your role will involve cultivating client relationships identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the growth and success of our consultancy firm. You will be willing to play a key role in the development and implementation of the growth strategy for the ecology workstream in ACT.
Senior Ecologist
As a Senior Ecologist you will play a pivotal role in our team leading ecological surveys conducting impact assessments and providing expert advice to clients. You will leverage your extensive experience in ecological project management to drive successful outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders will be key as you contribute to the development of sustainable solutions and mitigation strategies. Demonstrated experience in the collection and interpretation of ecological and spatial data is required.
