Job Description

Job Title: Surveillance Supervisor
Department: Surveillance
Reports To: Superintendent of Police
Location: Cayuga Nation
Job Type: FullTime 24/7 Operation All Shifts Required)

Job Summary:

The Surveillance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Surveillance Team in monitoring and protecting Cayuga Nation enterprises and government facilities. This position ensures that all surveillance activities comply with applicable policies regulations and laws while upholding the highest standards of security and integrity. The Surveillance Supervisor provides leadership training and operational oversight to a team of Surveillance Specialists and reports directly to the Superintendent of Police. Due to the nature of this role candidates must be available to work all shifts including nights weekends and holidays as part of a 24/7 operation.Core working hours will be defined by the Superintendent of Police however the successful candidate must be willing to flex duty hours to meet the complex needs of the Cayuga Nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Surveillance Team ensuring proper monitoring and reporting of all activities within Cayuga Nation enterprises and government facilities.
  • Provide leadership training and mentorship to Surveillance Specialists to enhance efficiency compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all tribal state and federal laws as well as internal policies and procedures related to surveillance operations.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment and systems to detect and prevent illegal or suspicious activities.
  • Review and analyze surveillance footage reports and incidents escalating issues to the Superintendent of Police as necessary.
  • Maintain proper documentation of surveillance activities reports and investigations for future reference.
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and security personnel regarding security concerns investigations and emergency responses.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of surveillance equipment and recommend upgrades or maintenance as needed.
  • Develop and implement best practices for surveillance operations improving efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of all surveillancerelated information.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice Security Management or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in surveillance security or law enforcement with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of surveillance systems monitoring equipment and security protocols.
  • Experience in report writing investigations and compliance enforcement.
  • Ability to work all shifts including nights weekends and holidays in a 24/7 operation.
  • Ability to integrate as part of a management team with shared decisionmaking processes.
  • Excellent leadership communication and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under highpressure situations.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in computer systems including surveillance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • A basic understanding of computer networking concepts.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Cayuga Nation gaming license in good standing which will be paid for by the Nation.
  • Must pass an extensive background check and drug screening as required by Cayuga Nation policies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit stand and monitor screens for extended periods.
  • Capability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in tribal government or enterprise surveillance.
  • Certifications in security or surveillance operations (e.g. CCTV training security management).
  • Experience with emergency response coordination.
  • Experience with Class II gaming surveillance and regulations.
