OnsiteAt Collins Aerospace in Cheshire CT we are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our innovative team in the development of highprecision inertial measurement sensors and systems critical to both commercial and military applications. In this role you will take ownership of product design and performance across a wide range of operations ensuring smooth transitions from design to fullrate production. Youll collaborate with crossfunctional teams to optimize manufacturing processes resolve issues and drive continuous improvement in quality cost and productivity. Your expertise in troubleshooting product/process design and applying statistical methods will be key in ensuring the successful development and scaling of cuttingedge products. What YOU Will Do:
- Ownership for product design and performance involving daily production of numerous product lines
- Work with Quality Manufacturing and Engineering to solve manufacturing issues from supplier through customer
- Apply product/process design knowledge to troubleshooting and RCCA endeavors
- Provide lead in new product introductions transitions and conversions
- Produce the required reports procedures and supporting documentation to capture solutions and provide engineering guidance
- Develop the design and performance understanding for the greater engineering team
- Provide expertise in construction maintenance and interpretation of drawings with complex GD&T requirements
- Develop mathematical empirical and analytical models that capture the impact of key product parameters
- Apply statistical methods for product and process optimization
- SAP Work Order Routing and BOM management
- Support TPM processes
- Continuously drive improvement in areas of yield quality cost schedule and productivity
- Develop and support tooling equipment and materials selections for existing and new products
- Dispositioning of nonconforming material and support of review board
- Participate in the design and arrangement of assembly areas within plant facilities to ensure more efficient and productive layout
What YOU Will Learn:

- Statistical Process Control and Optimization: Enhance your expertise in applying statistical methods such as Six Sigma and ACE to drive product and process optimization improving yield quality and cost efficiency
- Design for Manufacturability: Build a deep understanding of how to design products that are not only highperforming but also producible at scale with a focus on creating robust designs that simplify the manufacturing process and reduce costs
- Leadership in Product Development: Lead new product introductions and help shape the future of aerospace technology by guiding the transition from development to full production impacting critical military and commercial applications
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree 9 years of relevant experience
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen permanent resident refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations We Prefer:
- A Bachelor of Science or Engineering in a relevant technology
- Experience with electromechanical product design advanced testing methods and product troubleshooting
- 10 years of experience working within a matrixed organization
- ERP experience such as SAP
- Related manufacturing experience
- RCCA and statistical methods such as Six Sigma and ACE

The salary range for this role is 82000 USD 164000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
