Job Description
Saylor Consulting Group (SCG) has an opportunity for a Construction Inspector to work with our public works client in San Francisco CA. TheConstruction Inspector will perform civil and infrastructure construction inspection duties pertaining to streetscape and roadway improvements around a dense urban transit station hub.
Daily Duties
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) monitoring and inspecting construction work for compliance
- Responsible for monitoring any excavation efforts the loading and offhaul of hazardous materials and conducting necessary site testing for construction purposes
- Review all plans specifications and shop drawings for compliance during construction and report on observed safety and environmental hazards and field conditions that could alter original designs
- Review all project schedules and implement inspection plans as well as coordinating construction phases
- Lead all field meetings and support in the resolution of any identified problems or complaints
- Prepare regular project documentation and regularly produce updated progress reports including daily construction reports any meeting minutes and analyzing change order requests
- Generally maintain construction records
- Verify all field measurements and quantity/progress estimates
- Availability to work nights and weekends during key construction activities
Minimum Qualifications
- BS/BA in Engineering Construction Management Business or related degree.
- Current HAZPOWER Certification
- A minimum of 4 years total of fulltime construction inspection work on similar projects.
- Experience in construction supervision construction management construction inspection or construction administration with demonstrated experience directly applicable to civil construction or civil construction management and or building construction or building construction management. Additional demonstrated experience in civil construction or civil construction management and or building construction or building construction management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety quality and change management practices.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the major components of construction documents and construction contracts.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans specifications reports and other design related information that generally pertains to construction.
- Ability to analyze and present quantitative data and draw conclusions from such.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees supervisors consultants other agencies and the general public including those from culturally diverse backgrounds the elderly persons with disabilities and/or other vulnerable populations.
- Ability to utilize personal computer and applicable engineering and business software applications.
