Job Description
NEEDED: Waste Collection Worker
LOCATION: COLUMBUS CIVIC CENTER 400 4th St Columbus GA 31901
HOURS: As Needed/ Event Driven 7 days a week MondaySunday 12:00 AM 12:00 PM
DRESS CODE: Black or brown shoes and black pants
REQUIREMENTS:
- Dependable Transportation
- Dependable and punctual attendance
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rides the back of the truck; grabs cans; empties cans into the truck.
- Washes the truck twice a week.
- Cleans fleet yard twice a week.
- Assists in resolving complaints.
- Carries out a continuous effort to improve operations work processes and work processes and works cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customerdriven service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety precautions. Knowledge of department policies and procedures. Skill in oral communication.
Educational and Training Requirements:
- Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field in addition to basic skills typically associated with high school education.
- Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is typically performed while standing walking bending crouching or stooping.
- Frequently lifts heavy objects
