This post is specifically for our Machinist and Assembler positions. Workers will grind welds and camber products.
As a member of the McPherson-based team you will be responsible for the general assembly of components in accordance with product specifications engineering drawings work orders and quality procedures. You will be cross trained in a variety of tasks including completing assembly checklists testing parts and monitoring stock bins. Your training will also include the use of a variety of hand and pneumatic tools. You will report directly to the Production Supervisor as well as the Plant Manager.

What will your typical day look like
Assembles components according to blueprints routers work orders checklists and specifications to build assemble and test parts and finished goods that meet quality standards in an accurate and timely fashion.
Accurately completes assembly checklists.
Monitors stock bins in work area and reports stock needs to Shop Floor Lead(s).
Ensures a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
Adheres to the Wabtec Code of Conduct.
Other duties as assigned.

The employee will normally work on the production shop floor that does not have controlled temperatures and will vary based on weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes and minimal to moderate noise.
The typical working hours for this role are 6:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Thursday. Overtime hours may be available or even required according to business needs and within the parameters of any applicable federal/state laws.
