The successful candidate should be able to perform thorough history and physical assessment general periop and postoperative management. Alsobeable to evaluate assess implement plans and monitor other comorbid medical conditions secondary to surgical illness or injury.The candidate will serveboth on the inpatient surgical service and in the outpatient clinic.

Position Description:
Work alongsideGeneralSurgeons while communicating with practice as needed regarding patients care needs.
Coverthegeneraland acute care surgery inpatient service and outpatient clinic.Shifts will be on weekdays with the possibility of weekends.
Assist in the OR with traditional laparoscopic and robotic surgery cases and perform minor surgical procedures. On the job training will be provided.
Help teachAPP students.
Education Experience and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in NC required. BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking interpersonal skills and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions. Current BCLS ACLS PALS and ATLS preferred.
Nurse Practitioner: Masters Degree or Doctorate of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required.Acute Care board certificationbased upon population and acuity served.
Physician Assistant: Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
