Summary of Position
Responsible for assisting in the development of spatial data and GIS software applications and
the maintenance of the systems necessary to support the needs of Madison Countys Geographic Information System users.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform editing and spatial analysis of data
- Perform quality assurance of data to verify accuracy
- Aid in developing new workflows and processes to assist with daily operations
- Edit within enterprise geodatabases in ArcGIS Pro to support users and projects
- Provide technical support for ArcGIS software endusers including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Help maintain hardware and software inventory control of GIS assets
- Help create and maintain documentation for GIS workflows and procedures
- Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelors degree in Geography or a GIS relevant field (or equivalent experience) and one 1 year related experience with the ArcGIS platform is required.
- Experience with ArcGIS Pro
- Familiarity with Esri configurable apps in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise preferred
- Ability to go out in the field for data collection or travel to departments in other buildings
Physical Requirements
Sit for extended periods of time. The employee is required to walk or move up to 200 feet from primary desk. The employee may be required to walk or move short to medium distances over mildly treacherous terrain in order to collect data on locations that are overgrown or muddy. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop kneel or crouch and crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
