The City of Folsoms Parks and Recreation Department is currently recruiting for temporary parttime Recreation Leader I/IIs Summer Campto support the Community & Cultural Services Division.


Under the direction of Recreation Coordinators and Summer Camp Directors summer Recreation Leaders will facilitate daily camp activities including arts and crafts sports games drama music and other activities. These positions are available in our Destination Recreation Camp for ages 610 yrs old and the Summer CAVE Teen Program for those entering 6th grade through 8th grade.

Recreation Leader I is an entrylevel position while Recreation Leader II requires more experience.

Schedule
  • Beginning Friday May 30th Friday August 1st Recreation Leaders may be scheduled to work Monday Friday from approximately 7:30am 5:30pm.
  • Hours prior to camp and after camp will vary.

Pay & Benefits
  • Nonexempt Recreation Leader I is $16.50 $17.00 and Recreation Leader II is $17.50 $18.00
  • Placement will depend on qualifications and experience.
  • Parttime positions are hourly and not eligible for benefits and are limited to working 999 hours in a fiscal year (July 1 June 30. No fulltime regular appointment will be made from this class.

Note:Unfortunately current active CalPERS members are ineligible for employment with parttime positions.

Ability to:

Minimum Qualifications


Education:
High school diploma G.E.D. or work permit. Some college education is preferred.

Qualifications:
At least 15 years of age with the ability to obtain a work permit if still in High School or under the age of 18. Must be at least 18 years of age for positions within the CAVE teen programs.

Previous experience working with schoolage children and summer camps preferred.

License Certificate Registration Requirements:
Possession of current CPR/First Aid Certification.

Physical Requirements
Frequent sitting standing walking kneeling bending stooping and crouching. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. Perform repetitive hand arm and body movement on a continuous basis. Frequent public and coworker contact occasional working alone.
