Mama Money is a growth stage fintech startup working to help migrant workers in South Africa send money home. Since 2015 we have been providing reliable remittances at a socially fair price to those that need it most.
Mama HQ is in beautiful Cape Town South Africa. We are 131 people strong (and counting) from 19 countries across Africa Asia the UK and Europe. Weve been around since 2015 and have earned a few accolades along the way made some new friends and expanded our reach. Weve had some great times and some tough times but we continue to focus on helping people rather than maximizing profit.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to help us automate all the things and ensure stability across all of our systems to join us. You will work closely with our Development and Data teams and build tooling to ensure the Developers can move quickly.
As our DevOps Engineer you will:
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Automate highly scalable and resilient cloud operations that can be executed with no customer downtime
- Testing and examining code written by others and analysing results
- Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
- Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and fixes
- Provisioning administration and maintaining of the AWS cloud platform
- Maintaining our core Mama Money platform and ensuring 99.9 uptime
Required experience:
- At least 5 years experience with AWSDeveloper mindset
- Experience with Kubernetes / Docker / EKS
- Good understanding of networking topologies
- Experience with monitoring services like Prometheus/Grafana
- Scripting experience (Python / Bash / other)
- CI/CD exposure (Github Actions GitLab)
