SalaryRange: $40268 $51959annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary
The Admissions Examiner is responsible for understanding and applying all aspects of the admission review process in accordance with the process manual as well as UCCS CUsystem and State of Colorado requirements which may apply. This position has the more specific role of examining undergraduate and graduate applications and associated documents needed to determine admissibility or complete graduate application files and to make such admissions decisions basedupon stated processes and practices.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- Follow admission review procedures in the following areas: reviewing applicants high school and college transcripts as a part of determining academic eligibility; recommendation letters;reviewing ACT SAT GED GRE GMAT etc. test scores as a part of determining eligibility; gathering other necessary documents required as per the direction of the graduate department or school based on current process and practices.
- Communicate with prospective applicants (and families) in person virtually via email and phone as to the requirements for admission and answer questions regarding the process qualifications for admission or alternatives if not admissible.
- Refer graduate applicants to the appropriate graduate department for clarification onadmission decisionsand/or additional information relevant to future rereview and admissibility options.
- Advise continuing students regarding holds on their records that may keep prevent enrollment in future terms (such as academic suspension holds missing documentation past balance holds).
- Have a working knowledge of FERPA guidelines to ensure proper communication of information.
- Provide student ID numbers when requested while still operating under FERPA guidelines.
- Manage review and decision applications in the electronic student information system (CUSIS) and/or CRM of record.
- Determine applicant admission type as either freshman or transfer per the Colorado Department of Higher Educations regulations.
- Prep admission files for the admissions conduct review committee as needed.
- Evaluate standardized test scores (ACT SAT GED IB CLEP AP GRE and GMAT).
- Verify previous institutions attended as disclosed on application.
- Manage application check lists to ensure receipt and processing of associated documents.
- Support duplicate application resolution process.
- Enter biographical data into CUSIS.
- Verify all data uploaded into CUSIS is correct and matches the application.
- Determine students residency and/or citizenship status per state statute.
- Support graduate department admission by preparing digital completed application packet and initiating electronic workflow to respective departments for review/decision.
- Convert college quarter hours to semester hours.
- Apply professional discretion to admission decisions where documents or academic history may be deficient.
- Verify accreditation of other institutions student credentials have been received from.
- Determine if there is inprogress work on the transcript and request a final transcript whennecessary.
- Forward transcripts and other educational documents to other University departments or staff when it isacademically necessary.
- Manage and process tuition classification forms.
- Process admission committee or graduate department admissions decisions per academiccollege guidelinesand according to the Office of Admissions processing procedures.
- Determine if inprogress work showing on a students credential should be used when makingthe admissiondecision.
- Participate in admissions committee or graduate department reviews with faculty and staff from the various professional schools.
- Ensure appropriate admissions/denial communication is activated and sent to the applicant/student.
- Process completed application files within the established twoweek processing time frame.
- Match and electronically index documents to OnBase.
- Cancel or defer applications or admission per the students or department request.
- Delete electronic applications from the student information system (CUSIS) when necessary.
- Process electronic student update forms.
- Monitor weekly generated incomplete applications report and manage volumes accordingly.
- Assist other University departments in locating electronic documents in OnBase.
- Add or delete registration holds when documents are received.
- Support resolution of student grievances either directly or with assistance from external departments.
- Work within the document workflow to manage streamlined processing of electronic documents.
- Make recommendations and collaborate on continual improvement of the admissions process.
- Update admission manual (the standard operating procedure document) as/when directed.

To be considered for this role you must possess a bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.
Preferred experience in document processing file management and candidate review.
Ideally has experience working in an education environment.
Ideally has experience in an office of admissions.
Ideally has experience with Oracle/Peoplesoft.
