What Youll Be Doing:

As a Naval Architect II youll join a team that blends handson naval architecture with innovative engineering solutions. Youll work on a range of vessels including steel aluminum and composite crafts from 20 to 250. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience across the full spectrum of naval architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed engineering calculations using first principles and tackle design challenges with creative practical solutions.

  • Support Project Managers in boat and vessel design providing technical expertise to meet client needs.

  • Adhere to and improve our Engineering Standards and Procedures to ensure toptier quality and efficiency.

  • Collaborate closely with engineers to document and solve complex design challenges.

  • Complete engineering assignments on time using standard industry software and processes.

  • Provide onsite engineering services to US Navy Combatant Craft Division (Code 83 at Little Creek Amphibious Base.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

  • Bachelors Degree in Naval Architecture Marine Engineering or a related field.

  • At least 2 years of experience in naval architecture or marine engineering.

  • Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles practices and related technologies.

  • Familiarity with industry standards (BS/RINA/LR/ISO/USCG/ABYC) and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD and Rhino.

  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word PowerPoint Excel).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Naval Architecture or related fields.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam.

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).

  • Experience working in shipyards or boatyards.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67600.00 $122200.00
