How You Add Value:

Responsible for managing the insurance reviews for all assets within the Blackstone portfolio by working with lenders (and their representatives) providing the complex financing.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manages preclosing insurance requirements of all commercial real estate transactions by liaising with lenders consultants and brokers on new loan originations on behalf of Blackstone.

• Responsible for negotiating insurance requirements based on deal type loan property geography and lender standards.

• Analyzes proposed insurance requirements against the coverage in place to then identify and communicate coverage gaps if any to appropriate parties for resolution.

• Requests exception waivers as appropriate.

• Liaises with lenders consultants counsel and brokers preclosing to ensure that all requirements are met prior to or at closing so the requested loans can be issued accordingly.

• Liaises with Capital Markets and Deal teams to explain and mitigate potential risk exposures by proposing customized solutions if/as necessary.

• Works with our brokers (across the various lines of coverage) to ensure documentation requirements are being met so lender(s) can approve the proposed coverage.

• Educates Blackstone & their Portfolio Companies in risk management risk transfer market issues and relevant trends.

• Serves as a trusted business advisor on all pertinent insurance issues.

• Responsible for deal flow management and tracking inc. type locations Portfolio Companies rating agencies closing dates and approvals and/or issues.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of experience

• 5 years of relevant Property & Casualty insurance experience and/or Lender consulting

• Financing or commercial transaction management experience preferred

• Commercial real estate experience a plus

• Environmental liability insurance knowledge is a plus

Required:

• MUST HAVE PROPERTY & CASUALTY INSURANCE EXPERIENCE

Skills:

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Excellent customer service skills including telephone and listening skills

• Strong problem solving and time management skills

• Effective planning organizational and prioritization skills

• Critical attention to detail

• Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

Base Compensation Range:

Total Direct Compensation: This job is also eligible for discretionary bonus and incentive compensation on an annual basis.
