Position Summary:
The IT & Operations Management (ITOM) Department in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University seeks to hire two fulltime instructors in Management Information Systems (MIS) starting Fall 2025.
Job description and expectations:
The successful candidates will teach departmental courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels assist in curriculum development and possess a passion for working with students. The instructors hired for this position will have a teaching load of 4 courses per semester. ITOM offers courses in several formats: traditional inperson lectures lecturecapture/hybrid (mixed online) and fully online. Familiarity and/or interest in all three delivery methods is necessary. The successful candidates should also be able to teach these courses over any of our term formats including traditional 16week terms fasttrack 8week terms and/or intersession terms and possibly on one of our FAU satellite campuses such as the Davie or Fort Lauderdale Campus. The positions duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate management information systems business analytics AI blockchain technologies and other related courses and actively engaging in the departments and College of Businesss initiatives to create an accessible supportive environment and an educational experience that recognizes academic excellence. At least one of the successful candidates will be actively working with the Deans office and the College on AI program development and relations with the industry as well as engaging in executive and collegelevel projects and initiatives.

About ITOM Department: The Department of Information Technology and Operations Managements (ITOM) mission is to develop competence in information systems business analytics supply chain and operations management and related decision sciences disciplines for traditional and nontraditional students across the College of Business; to produce skilled individuals proficient in information technology who are able to contribute effectively to their organizations and communities in an everevolving technological environment; to engage in an active partnership with the business community; and to continually innovate and increase the quality of its educational and research activities in a manner that increases education effectiveness and global reach. The Department seeks to leverage FAUs south Florida location which is one of the countrys most dynamic areas of international trade and transportation. In addition the ITOM Department has just launched two new graduate programs MS in Supply Chain Management and MS in Business Analytics. The Department relaunched its PhD program in Fall 2022.
