The Opportunity:

7News Regional is seeking a driven multiskilled journalist for ourMackay newsroom.
This is a great opportunity to work with Australias leading broadcast media organisation and will give you the opportunity to improve your journalism skills and take another step in your career.
Based in Mackay and reporting to the News Editor the successful applicant would be responsible for sourcing and writing broadcast news in vitalMackay news market. Other key responsibilities include:
- Generating original daily story ideas for onair presentations.
- Interviewing writing and voicing skills.
- Developing and maintaining contacts in the community.
- Research and prepare news reports.
- Create an effective and respectful rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
About You:
You are a talented and motivated selfstarter who can effectively maintain high levels of personal organisation and time management practices. You possess creative mindset with energy enthusiasm and a strong knowledge base in journalism.
You will have:
- Proven experience writing stories.
- Tertiary qualification in journalism or communications.
- Exceptional communication and written skills.
- The ability to work to very tight/ precise deadlines.
- An understanding in Broadcast Law Guidelines.
