Perched sixty stories above Lower Manhattan Manhatta serves seasonal inspired cooking and offers stunning views of New York City its bridges and waterways. Manhatta is a restaurant and fullservice event space from Danny Meyers Union Square Hospitality Group combining skyhigh views with downtoearth hospitality.
Who you are:
As anEvent Server you are the tour guide for our guests adventure for their event. We are looking for dedicated team members who are invested in guiding our guests through an incredible and memorable experience. Professionals in this role will need to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food beverage our menu our ingredients and excellent service. Successful candidates require great teamwork skills a pleasant friendly attitude and a strong passion for hospitality and growth.
What youll do:
- Exude warmth and friendliness a passion for food and service and a strong desire to pursue more knowledge and growth.
- Able to understand guests needs and coordinate with teammates
- Ability to visually identify items and ingredients
- Run food from the kitchen to the event space on demand
- Assist with food and table prep before the event begins
- Serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages including bottled wine
- Clean up venue after event ends and assist with inventory food storage and other closeout task
- Perform job functions with precision speed and accuracy
- Prioritize the minute details of service appropriately and adapt to constantly changing priorities
- Maintain composure and remain calm under pressure resolve problems using good judgment
- Maintain a safe clean and organized work environment
- Consistently support a culture of Enlightened Hospitality
- Perform additional responsibilities as needed and other duties as assigned to support team objectives and operational success.
What we need from you:
- 12 years of similar experience in a similar environment
- A good understanding of event service food wine beer and cocktails
- Current Food Handlers Certificate
- Availability on demand
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
- Ability to balance & carry multiple plates glass racks and or/glasses and lift objects up to 30 lbs.
