Job Description

Job Title: School Psychologist K12Supervisor: Principal/DesigneeStart Date: July 1 2025 June 30 2026Position: FullTime 11 MonthsHours: 8:00 AM 3:30 PMPosition OverviewCodman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a School Psychologist to support the academic socialemotional and behavioral development of all students. The ideal candidate will provide psychological assessments counseling services and behavioral interventions while working collaboratively with educators families and support staff. This role plays a critical part in fostering a studentcentered learning environment that aligns with EL Education principles.Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Assessment & EvaluationConduct psychological and educational assessments for students attending Codman Academy.Interpret assessment data to identify learning emotional and behavioral needs.Develop comprehensive and informative reports that include appropriate educational goals and recommendations.Participate actively in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and 504 Plan meetings to develop tailored interventions and accommodations.Consultation & CollaborationProvide teachers and staff with consultation on student learning strategies behavioral interventions and mental health supports to enhance student success.Conduct classroom screenings and observations to assist educators in designing effective instructional strategies.Serve as a member of the Student Support Team (SST) collaborating with administrators special education staff and families to provide wraparound support.Counseling & Intervention ServicesProvide individual and smallgroup counseling for students facing socialemotional behavioral or mental health challenges.Implement researchbased interventions to support students executive functioning social skills and emotional regulation.Assist in the development and implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) within the school community.Crisis Response & PreventionServe as a key member of the crisis intervention team providing immediate support for students in distress.Develop and implement schoolwide mental health and wellness initiatives to promote a positive school climate.Offer preventative programming focused on socialemotional learning resiliencebuilding and conflict resolution.School & Community EngagementWork collaboratively with families to provide guidance resources and referrals for mental health special education and communitybased supports.Engage in schoolwide initiatives and professional development opportunities that align with Codman Academys EL Education curriculum.Advocate for student needs by maintaining strong communication with teachers administrators and external support agencies.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:Licensed as a School Psychologist by the Massachusetts Department of Education.Demonstrated competency in psychological and educational assessments behavioral analysis and intervention strategies.Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write clear and effective reports.Knowledge of IEP and 504 Plan processes and ability to contribute meaningfully to special education services.Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor to support student wellbeing and academic success.Preferred:Experience working in an urban school setting providing educational and psychological services.Licensure as a Licensed Educational Psychologist (LEP).Multilingual proficiency particularly in Spanish Cape Verdean Creole Haitian Creole Chinese Vietnamese Portuguese or Somali.Experience supporting students with disabilities and English Language Learners (ELLs).Salary Range: $75000 $82000Why Join Codman AcademyCodman Academy is a missiondriven charter school committed to EL Education and fostering a wholechild approach to learning.
