About Portledge School:

Job Description:
Portledge School seeks to hire a dynamic Upper School English Teacher for a fulltime leave replacement position from late August 2025 early December 2025. Responsibilities include teaching 5 sections of Upper School English participating collegially in meetings and taking an active role in the life of the school community including as an advisor to approximately 10 upper school students. The Upper School English teacher will also beresponsible for grading all assignments and assessments for the first quarter preparing student comments for quarter one progress reports as needed and meeting with families during the fall parentteacher conferences. This is a fulltime temporary faculty position that reports directly to the Upper School Division Head.

Qualifications:
BA Degree minimum; advanced degree preferred
Teaching certification preferred
Experience in teaching reading and writing skills required
Superb written and oral communication as well as organizational and time management skills

Desire to nurture the whole child and to support students by attending all school events such as art music theater athletics and community functions

Compensation Range:
$750$1000 per week
