Position Summary

The MSU School of Social Work is dedicated to educating students for ethical competent responsive and innovative social work practice and to conducting and disseminating high quality research that improves the wellbeing of the most vulnerable in society. Our teaching research and outreach synergistically promote social justice positive change and solutions to the problems facing diverse individuals families groups organizations and communities. More than 650 students are enrolled in our CSWEaccredited BASW and MSW programs and PhD program.

The School supports MSUs outreach mission through offcampus distance and blended instructional programs that utilize technology and innovative teaching strategies. We also provide multiple opportunities for creative interdisciplinary teaching and research communitybased studies and partnerships with government agencies and neighborhoods.

The School of Social Work seeks candidates for 810 positions to teach courses in social work practice methods human behavior and the social environment social welfare policy and research methods to teach facetoface and online courses. Courses are offered at our East Lansing Flint Statewide Blended and Weekend campus sites. This is an annual AN (AN) for Summer semester teaching when courses become available.

Position is planned to recur every Summer Semester

Required Degree

Doctorate Social Work

Minimum Requirements

MSW for Instructor Rank; Ph.D. for Assistant. Professor Associate Professor or Professor Rank by the date of employment.

The successful candidate must also have demonstrated experience in teaching courses and/or seminars.
