Job Description
Responsibilities:
- In this role you will be responsible for the structural design of reinforced concrete and structural steel structures and buildings according to SANS design codes.
- Structural Design Utilize advanced knowledge and skills with Prokon Design Software PADDS or Probar 2 and AutoCAD to design and analyse various structural elements and systems.
- Employ intermediate knowledge of Revit ROBOT or Prokon Sumo and BIM digital delivery for structural modeling and coordination.
- Stay updated with industry standards and regulations to ensure designs meet safety and quality requirements.
- Project Management Collaborate with project managers and teams to deliver projects within specified timelines and budgets.
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout the project lifecycle from conceptualization to completion.
- Contract Management Apply intermediate understanding of contract management and contracts such as JBCC GCC etc.
- Review and negotiate contracts ensuring terms and conditions are favorable and align with project objectives.
- Quality Assurance Conduct thorough quality checks and reviews of structural designs and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
- Implement quality assurance processes to minimize errors and ensure deliverables meet client expectations.
- Communication and Collaboration Effectively communicate with clients architects contractors and other stakeholders to address design requirements resolve issues and ensure project objectives are met.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate structural designs with architectural and MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) systems.
Qualifications:
- B.Eng or BSc Eng from a recognised university
- Professional registration with ECSA
- Code B drivers license
- Minimum of 5 years experience
- Advanced knowledge and skill with Prokon Design Software PADDS or Probar 2 and AutoCAD
- Intermediate knowledge of Revit ROBOT or Prokon Sumo and BIM digital delivery
- A comprehensive understanding of SANS codes and knowledge of other design codes (BS EU/EN American etc. will be an advantage.
- Intermediate understanding of contract management and contracts (JBCC GCC etc..
