Job Description
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Were looking for multiple Principal Engineers to solve complex software engineering problems supporting Nikes pursuit of delivering state of the art tools to our product developers and broader creation community. The candidate needs to be highly collaborative with peers productive in a fastpaced development environment and have depth of native cloud software engineering experience.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
If this is you youll be working on the Product Innovation team and be one of the primary technical leaders on one of Nikes emerging technology platforms. In a typical week half of your time will be spent leading by example to design develop operate and integrate Nike and partner platforms and applications. The other half will be leadership responsibilities to drive technical priorities define engineering best practices collaborate with peers and help to translate business problems into technical solutions.
You will be part of our Design Engineering team in the Consumer Products & Innovation org. In a typical week half of your time will be spent leading by example to design develop operate and integrate Nike and partner platforms and applications. The other half will be leadership responsibilities to drive technical priorities define engineering best practices collaborate with peers and help to translate business problems into technical solutions.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will spend much of your time with Software Engineers in Design Engineering and adjacent teams. You will also partner closely with other Principal Engineers Solution Architects Engineering Directors and Product Managers in both Product Innovation and other departments.
WHAT YOU BRING
Excellent computer science fundamentals including algorithms and data structures
Bachelor Degree or a combination of relevant education training and experience
10 years software engineering experience as an individual contributor developing custom software
Handson experience implementing and supporting modern software architectural principles and patterns (REST domaindriven design Devops microservices etc
Hands on experience with distributed cloud systems (node.js EC2 Lambda DynamoDB Elasticsearch or Google Cloud/Azure equivalents)
Experience with frontend web application technolgies javascript CSS html5 Vue React/redux etc.
Experience with implementing and integrating AI Machine Learning and related data solutions preferred.
Continuous deployment and automated testing experience
Excellent influencing verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with multiple peers and crossfunctional partners
Experience working in a technical leadership role with agile teams in a product model
Experience developing monitoring and supporting highly available microservices/lambdas and applications
