Job Description

TCR has an open fixed term contract opportunity for an experienced and detailoriented Parts Interpreter to join collaborative and supportive team in the Melbourne Airport. Join a global leader in the aviation industry interpreting and identifying Ground Support Equipment parts.

As a Parts Interpreter at TCR you will:

  • Accurately identify and interpret part numbers technical specifications and diagrams to source the correct components for Ground Support Equipment (GSE) ensuring they meet customer or operational requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and support to internal teams and customers (such as airport maintenance or airline technicians) regarding part availability compatibility pricing and lead times.
  • Take and process orders for parts entering them into the ordering system and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Follow up on order status and manage backorders as needed.
  • Address customer concerns and troubleshoot partsrelated issues providing alternative solutions or identifying the bestfit parts when the requested component is unavailable.
  • Work closely with technical staff to ensure the accurate and timely procurement of parts based on maintenance schedules and equipment needs offering expert guidance on specifications and sourcing options.
  • Monitor trends in GSE and related industries to stay informed about new products suppliers and market conditions ensuring the company has access to the latest technologies and parts.
  • Work with suppliers to procure hardtofind or specialized parts assisting with stock replenishment and maintaining a seamless supply chain.

To be successful you will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working with mechanical electrical or hydraulic components ideally within industries like automotive machinery or aerospace. Familiarity with parts catalogs technical manuals and diagrams is highly valued.
  • The ability to interact with customers professionally providing accurate information troubleshooting advice and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective problemsolving.
  • A keen eye for detail to accurately identify parts check technical specifications and ensure that parts meet quality standards. Strong organizational skills to maintain an efficient and wellstocked parts inventory.
  • A solutionoriented mindset with the ability to quickly adapt to new challenges such as sourcing hardtofind parts or offering alternative solutions when requested components are unavailable.
