Job Description
Located in Rindge NH Franklin Pierce University (FPU) is close to Boston and New York City yet provides the natural beauty and safety of a rural campus with access to outdoors activities the arts excellent educational options for families and more. FPU seeks an experienced Facilities Director to lead and manage a comprehensive university environment including a 1200acre flagship campus in Rindge NH along with smaller graduate Center operations in TX AZ and elsewhere in NH. The Director provides oversight and direct supervision to an experienced Facilities staff with a broad range of duties and responsibilities. The position involves budgetary planning (capital and operating budgets) as well as other relevant administrative functions in addition to handson involvement as the Director is expected to lead and manage Facilities operations yet also directly participate in physical plant functions. FPU as a 60 year old institution and like many institutions in higher education actively manages issues related to deferred maintenance weather and conditionrelated stressors on buildings and grounds etc. As student success is paramount and with an expectation that a campus environment(s) is always strong the Director must prioritize customer service along with fiscal responsibility and staff satisfaction. With a current rebranding of FPU and recent launch of a major fundraising campaign the Director will join FPU at a time of challenge but also excitement positive change and entrepreneurial focus. It is anticipated that the fulltime start date will be on or around June 2025.
Qualifications: Significant experience in facilities operations and staff management preferably in higher education or another industry which relies on a strong physical plant is expected. A bachelors degree is desirable. The Director must have good organizational professional and interpersonal skills and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail are essential.
