Job Description

Primary Purpose
The Science Tutor is responsible for the support of academic success of the College students. Provide personalized attention and offer own pace learning to enrolled students within the College district.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Be in the Science Tutoring Center ready to tutor during scheduled hours each week. Follow the policies of the COCC Tutoring and Testing department governing tutors. Follow the CRLA Tutor Code of Ethics. Tutor COCC students in Biology Chemistry Physics Engineering and/or Geology to support instruction. Complete 10 hours of College Reading & Learning Association Tutor training within the first year of employment (paid time). Become familiar with Science faculty assignments for specific courses supporting. Other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or GED . Experience: Grade B or better in the courses you tutor. Faculty recommendations or unofficial transcripts proving subject competence upon hire. Accurate arithmetic grammar spelling editing and proofreading skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with COCC curriculum in subject to tutor. Customer Service experience.
