Job Description
Crowne Plaza is looking to hire a motivated and professional individual to tend the onsite gift shop. The duties of this position are to perform the role of a shopkeeper which include presenting merchandise to customers assisting with merchandise selection facilitating sales transactions keeping accurate inventory and organizing back stock located on site.
- Stocks shelves counters tables and similar display fixtures with merchandise in a fashion that maximizes product visibility and promotes sales. Arranges signage and advertising collateral in an attractive fashion.
- Keep inventory of items in stock using point of sale system and barcode readers. Coordinate with Manager on new and discontinued items while maintaining adequate display of goods.
- Sell merchandise to guests.
- Make sure shop is always clean with proper displays place new merchandise on floor and ensure that all items are properly tagged and maintain control of inventory. Affix accurate prices to merchandise with stamps tags labels and similar methods.
- Provides suggestions information and similar assistance to customers as requested. Maintains substantial knowledge of products in assigned store as well as general product knowledge regarding merchandise for sale in other retail outlets on property.
- Accurately record sales and other transactions using the pointofsale system. Accept payment and make change as necessary following established accounting procedures.
- Previous retail experience convenience store and hotelrelated experience preferred.
- Must be able to speak read and write English.
- Requires good communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must possess basic computational ability.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Ability to solve problems and make rational decisions.
- Knowledge of retail operations.
- Must be able to bend stoop squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning and stocking tasks.
