The Priory Learning Trust (Somerset Business Award winner for Employer of the Year) is looking to recruit a Learning Support Unit Mentor to work at Worle Community School An Academy site in WestonsuperMare a five minute drive from the M5 junction 2.9 miles from the beach with strong public transport links.

What you will do to be successful here;

  • Provide 1 to 1 and small group support to students in and out of taught curriculum to enable them to learn and improve their interactions with others.
  • Set and maintain a calm and positive environment in which students can learn and which is conducive to good behaviour.
  • Promote positive values attitudes and behaviours to students.

What you will need to succeed;

  • Relevant professional qualifications including in Childhood Trauma and ACEs.
  • Will have awareness of national frameworks and evidence of working with students with a range of learning difficulties.
  • An understanding of the range of issues that can affect young people their families and disadvantaged sections of the community.

This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
