The Opportunity

We have a great entrylevel opportunity for a motivated Law Clerk to join our Business Services team. You will be part of a friendly collegiate and hardworking team and will be supported with onthejob training and professional development.

You will work alongside a dedicated team of Solicitors and will also have direct Partner mentoring. In this role you will be exposed to a range of interesting files and will have the opportunity to build your skills.

Key Responsibilities

The core responsibilities of this role include:

• Assisting the Principals and Solicitors on a range of business services education and employment law matters;
• Assisting with drafting advice to employers employment contracts and independent contractor agreements and reviewing workplace policies and procedures;
• Assisting with negotiating settlements attending conferences mediations and court;
• Assisting with drafting court documents including pleadings briefs and motions; and
• Communicating directly with clients via email phone and inperson meetings.

Requirements

Our ideal candidate will be studying towards a Bachelor of Laws with an interest to work in the Business Services area.

In addition they will possess the following:

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with clients and colleagues.
• Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A keen eye for detail and excellent timemanagement skills.
