Position Summary The Prospect Management Graduate Administrative Assistant helps execute instrumental support to enable the success of our overall fundraising operations and our prospect research and portfolio strategy systems and processes in support of SDSU Foundation. As a member of the team the Prospect Management Graduate Administrative Assistant assists with research duties technical writing data maintenance and other departmental tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Uphold SDSU Foundation Standards
Responsible for upholding the standards of the SDSU Foundation especially pertaining to quality control and other elements that impact relationships with donors and use of data and information.
Prospect Research
Help research prospective donors in alignment with fundraising priorities using information available through our donor database wealth screening services and online search tools.
Verify the validity of research through thirdparty services and update appropriate information in the database.
Draft donor profiles using the information found during the research process.
Data Management
Serve as a user of the database and support regular database maintenance processes.
Collaborate with team members to review data sets supporting prospect management needs and functions to optimize data cleanliness.
Occasionally generate and review reports within the database.
Other Duties
Other duties may be assigned to meet the organizations needs.
Education Requirements Candidates must be qualified for unconditional admission to Graduate School at South Dakota State University. Additional Qualifications Qualified individuals will possess the following:
Demonstrated curiosity and analytic ability to organize information and identify patterns trends and relationships in complex data sets.
A high level of interpersonal skills both in person and by phone to handle sensitive and confidential situations with varied internal and external constituencies.
Customer service skills requiring clear communication in person on the phone and in writing are essential.
A high level of integrity including ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
Ability to be organized and resourceful to locate and compile information and accomplish projects with minimal supervision.
Consistent attention to detail in composing and proofing materials establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.
Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment with professional demeanor selfreliance and resourcefulness.
Dependability and punctuality.
High energy positive attitude and high degree of initiative.
Proficient experience using the most recent versions of computer software applications including word processing spreadsheets database and presentation software (i.e. MSWord Excel Outlook PowerPoint).
Compensation In addition to an hourly rate includes a special tuition rate (waiver of tuition costs university support fee and program fees for statesupport and selfsupport courses). Work Schedule This assistantship requires a commitment of 20 hours per week and is based in Brookings SD. The work schedule may vary based on class schedule. Typical Physical Demands Requires sitting standing bending reaching and some lifting. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office machines such as computers fax machines calculators the telephone and other office and/or clerical equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision.
