Description
Salary Information: Minimum for Academic Year$1911 per credit hour commensurate with education and experience.
Other Conditions:
For lecturer applicant pool parttime pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Courses may be taught during the day evening weekend or online.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teach assigned courses in Elementary Education K6.
Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
Work under the supervision of the division chair to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors within the discipline area.
As needed working with multimedia presentations provide distance education instruction and teaching at offcampus sites.
Supervise and mentor students in their field placements.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Elementary Education Curriculum & Instruction Educational Research or in a disciplinary area such as Math Science or Digital Literacy.
Minimum 3 years Elementary School (K6 teaching experience and/or collegelevel courses in education.
Demonstrated teaching effectiveness as verified by professional references.
Desirable Qualifications
Doctorate degree in Elementary Education Curriculum & Instruction or in a disciplinary area such as Educational Research Math or Science.
College teaching experience in an accredited teacher preparation program.
Experienced in mentoring/supervising students in an education program.
Experienced in the use of technology and makerspaces in the teaching and learning process through inquirybased activities.
Experienced in teaching special education with the ability of scaffolding math and science activities.
Experienced collaborating and working with other college instructors using a cohort model.
