Job Summary
This seniorlevel position is responsible for assisting the Land department with preparation of correspondence associated with oil and gas leases. Responsibilities also include maintaining land database information and preparing departmental reports.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares compiles and processes lease packets
- Verifies and processes lease payments
- Reconciles lease information such as curative needs missing leases competitor acreage land owner issues etc.
- Maintains organizes and tracks budgets well lease information elections proposals and broker activity in land system databases and virtual files
- Develops proposals by collecting supporting documentation including AFEs Plats Permits etc. and routes and tracks approvals
- Performs general well maintenance such as monitoring expirations filing contracts of record and updating in system databases and virtual files
- Validates that the correct payment is being made by looking at ownership reports title opinions etc.
- Generates information from GIS mapping systems making recommendations in GIS system as needed
- Retrieves reviews and verifies leases title curative for unit review
- Performs and verifies division of interest calculations
- Responds to operator inquiries with appropriate information in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specific Skills
- Ability to navigate store update and retrieve various information from internal databases and virtual files
- Advanced knowledge of inhouse processing and routing procedures
- Ability to identify and locate the various documents that make up the lease packet
- Advanced knowledge of invoicing procedures and shipping processes
- Ability to navigate mapping systems in assigned geographic area
- Ability to read and comprehend leases agreements and other legal documentation.
- Ability to understand nonstandard lease provisions and their effect on drilling operations
- Ability to read title opinion and find what is needed to cure title
- Ability to understand how to obtain curative that needs to be completed prior to drilling
- Ability to understand how to locate and gather competitor leasehold information
- Ability to calculate division of interests
- knowledge of title ordering process
Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Preferred:Bachelors degree from accredited university
Experience
Minimum: 5 8 years related work experience
