About the Position
The Saint Paul City Attorneys Office is accepting applications for multiple attorney positions in its Civil Litigation Division. The pay range will be dependent on qualifications.- Associate Attorney Salary Level:$51.00 $58.03 Hourly;$106080.00 $120702.40 Annually
- Attorney Salary Level:$54.11 $66.80 Hourly;$112548.80 $138944.00 Annually (To be considered at the Attorney level candidates must have at least 3 years of directly related experience.
- Senior Attorney Level:$63.43 $79.48 Hourly;$131934.40 $165318.40 Annually (To be considered at the Senior Attorney level candidates must have at least 7 years of directly related experience.
Heres what you can expect to do:
These positions will involve litigation of a widerangeof civil actions including civil rights land use contracts labor and employment law and various tort claims. The successful candidates must:- Conduct legal analysis of standard and complex civil actions initiated against theCity of Saint Paulcity employees and elected officials.
- Developsustainablelitigationstrategiesforavarietyofpendingandthreatenedcivilactions.
- Represent the City of Saint Paul city employees and elected officials throughall phases of civil litigation instateand federal district and appellate courts.
- Prepare matters for trial including motions witness preparation and discovery.
- Appear in court remotely and in person.
- Prepare posthearing legal memorandum and appellate briefs.
- Manage dynamic case load.

Juris Doctorate Degree and a license to practice law from the Supreme Court of the State of Minnesota.
Excellent legal research and writing skills
Strong analytical and trial strategy skills.
Preferred candidates will have civil litigation experience and be admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.How to Apply
