Job Summary:
Were seeking a driven resultsoriented Controller who thrives in a fastpaced environment and is eager to make a significant impact. This is more than just an accounting role; its a chance to become a key strategic team member working directly with our CEO and COO to shape the financial future of Venture Solar. Youll be the handson leader of our finance team responsible for all financial reporting budgeting and cash flow management. This role requires your sleeves to be rolled up and getting things done. Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Oversee all aspects of financial reporting including monthend and yearend close processes ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Prepare and analyze financial statements providing key insights to senior management and communicating directly with our tax accountant.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the development and management of annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow optimizing working capital and ensuring the companys financial health.
- Internal Controls: Develop implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data. This includes working with the procurement team on inventory control.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor the accounting team fostering a collaborative and highperforming environment.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes enhance efficiency and leverage technology.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all federal state and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- System Implementation/Optimization: Potentially assist with ongoing system improvements and integrations particularly related to accounting software.
Qualifications:
- CPA License is highly preferred.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience with a proven track record in a fastpaced environment.
- Experience in the solar or construction industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Excellent analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
- Experience managing accounting for inventory is a plus.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with Salesforce and Sage accounting software is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
