Ophthalmic technicians play a key role in our daily eye clinics. They support the clinical consultant helping to ensure the smooth running of the clinics and that patient appointments run to time and are conducted in the right manner. Over time and with development ophthalmic technicians can run their own clinics.
Ophthalmic technicians are trained to use all diagnostic equipment and will undertake clinic appointments and also act as a point of escalation if junior technicians or healthcare assistants have queries or concerns.
