Job Description

Job Summary:

The Pathology Laboratory Support performs specimen receiving for laboratory specimens and specimen delivery to pathologists. Assists with pathology send outs to reference labs and accession BO and EY cases. Organizes courier pickup of specimens. Will also greet and assist visitors to Pathology answer phone calls and deliver samples to labs for testing. Will assist with specimen pickup and drop off to other departments if needed. Manages the pathology slide filing room which includes slide requests. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates degree in Science or related field (biology chemistry) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior clinical laboratory experience and NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician preferred.

Work Days:

MF 8:00am5:30pm
