UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital is a 204bed community hospital serving the Cedar Valley. Allen Hospital is the busiest hospital in the Cedar Valley. We care for more inpatients outpatients emergency patients and cardiac patients than any other hospital in our 10county service area. United Medical Park and Prairie Parkway offer outpatient care in facilities that are built for your comfort and convenience.
- Well established 16 member team 16 Physicians & 3 Advanced Practitioners) and growing
- Excellent specialty support
- 12Bed ICU with Intensivist
- Average census around 100
- Telehospitalist service overnight
- Fulltime night shift position 7p7a
- Dedicated admitters and dedicated hospitalist nursing staff
- Blocked scheduling 5 on 5 off
- Fully integrated system with clinic and hospitals on Epic EMR to improve care coordination
Responsibilities
- Manage 8090 nonICU patients in cooperation with 1 overnight Telehospitalist
- Observation admissions inpatient admission crosscoverage
- Physician runs codes and rapids with support from APP
- Evaluates interprets and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care
- Patientfocused friendly and willing to collaborate in a team environment
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) analytical and problemsolving skills
- Improve the health of the people and communities we serve
Qualifications
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Board Certified
- Inpatient experience strongly preferred
- Hold an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa
- Hold current and unrestricted state and federal authority to prescribe and administer medications as necessary or appropriate to the Advanced Practitioners field of practice
- Eligible to work in the United States
