Established Independent MultiSpecialty Practice Seeking a Payment Specialist to Join our Team!

Our mission at BMC is to provide excellent care through a multispecialty approach from prevention to intervention of potentially life threatening health problems. The Payment Specialist will work at our High Point office location.

PAYMENT SPECIALIST

The Payment Specialist will represent the organization in a professional manner while ensuring efficient and timely posting of payments on patient accounts.

Duties:

• Processes daily deposits and electronic fund transfers.
• Posts payments to accounts within the instructed timeframe.
• Monitors electronic remittances for any payments not received.
• Monitors overpayments and underpayments and forwards explanations of benefits to Billing Manager.
• Scans all insurance explanations of benefits as needed.
• Distributes Billing Department mail as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as insurance documents operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest and percentages.

Qualifications:

• Applicant should be well organized and highly motivated
• 3 years medical billing experience is Preferred
• Must have personal computer knowledge and experience with Word and Excel.
• Allscripts experience a plus!
