Serve as a faculty member in a clinician educator role with responsibility for education of residents and medical students providing care for medicine patients. Contribute to various research educational and clinical initiatives related to areas of interest and expertise. Multiple hires will be made from this posting.The Clinical Scholar Track is for fulltime faculty members who are heavily involved in clinical service education and related scholarship. This track has two career paths: ClinicianEducator concentrating on teaching and ClinicianInvestigator for concentrating on research/scholarship. Significant contributions in professional and academic service are required for both paths.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certified/Eligible in Internal Medicine
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess a special interest or expertise in education at the medical student or resident level.
Job Duties Outlined:
Provide medical care for Internal Medicine patients. Provide consultative services for patients cared for by other faculty members atKUMC.
Serve in a clinician educator role with responsibility for teaching Internal Medicine residents and medical students in clinical settings.
- Participate in regular educational and administrative conferences as directed by immediate supervisor including participation on subcommittees relevant to area of practice or education.
- Contribute to various educational and clinical initiatives related to specific areas of interest and expertise.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Division Director and/or Department Chairs.
