Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations maintaining an active and unrestricted pharmacist license.
- Oversee daily prescription processing and dispensing activities following standard operating procedures.
- Manage pharmacy personnel including hiring training scheduling and performance evaluations.
- Develop and maintain efficient pharmacy workflows identifying areas for process improvement.
- Ensure accurate inventory management overseeing the purchase and supply of medications.
- Address patient order concerns proactively and provide necessary followups.
- Communicate effectively with staff through verbal and written updates.
- Monitor and report key operational metrics related to prescription processing.
- Implement and manage new pharmacy programs and initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation standards such as URAC ACHC and NABP.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and ensure adherence to all required standards.
- Conduct quality assurance audits and implement corrective actions as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage pharmacists pharmacy technicians shipping/receiving clerks and interns.
- Handle recruitment training scheduling performance evaluations and employee development.
- Foster a positive work culture and ensure high team performance.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Kansas.
- Minimum of two years of pharmacist experience.
- One year of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Experience in retail or mailorder pharmacy preferred.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint.
- Understanding of 340B programs is a plus.
Education:
- Bachelors or advanced degree in pharmacy.
